The Battle Is On

This will be quite interesting for bloggers who make a few bucks like me from paid blogging. To others this info may have little or no effect at all.

Have you noticed your PageRank's status now? Well, if you were slapped with a ridiculously low PR, this was a result of Google’s campaign against paid linking and advertisement links which influence PageRank. My PR took a nosedive! How frustrating!!!

If the advertisers consider Google PR a great deal then how on earth can we "small" bloggers get a decent offer from paid blogging companies? I don't get it!

I really hope this issue will be resolved soon.

Yes...I have noticed my PR went to ZERO!! and none of my stats have changed...I am very frusterated with this as well...at least now I know I'm not the only one. I hope they resolve this soon too though!

Yeah..about a week or so ago Google did it to a bunch of people. Mine crept from 3 to 2 to 0. PPP is talking about using a different system instead of Google's PR, but it will probably be after the first of the year. Some people think that the PR thing will be history and personally, I hope it will be. I think they're relying too much on computers to tell them which sites are useful.

I have to say, I pay no attention. I probably ought to give more consideration to things like that! : )
I'm sorry Pia. I hope you had a great Thanksgiving.

I will only give Google the small amount of credit, that since I am in the process of moving my blog onto my own domain I have not spent as much time/effort maintaining it. But no less, my PR also took a nosedive, which is beyond maddening.

Several days ago, I read on PayPerPost's blog that they are in the process of perfecting a new system call "RealRank". They've noticed the Google PR thing, and they are trying to create a ranking system that represents the blogs more accurately to the advertisers. Now that Google has killed my PR, I am really interesed in that! I'll let you know what I can figure out.

i blog also on clubmom, and some of the clubmom writers were talking about these ads. now that clubmom won't be sponsoring mom writers anymore, they won't have to be concerned with the google ads on their own personal blogs. that's a shame how stuff like this happens, but politics/power/money always seem to step in. the good thing about that is God will always make another way.

andrea: i thought at first they were just having some technical problems. now i know my rating has a problem!

annette: i hope it will be too.

ester: i'm not an expert on this but this really sucks!

gina: i wasn't paying any attention to this too until i started doing paid blogging.

tidy: i wonder if other paid blogging companies would also look into this real rank thing or will it only be PPP?

rulan: God bless you too, rulan.

sylvia: i totally agree. God makes another way.
