My Salon Adventure 2

Sunday, January 29, 2012
What a beautiful day!

Woke up with a smile on my face.   I just feel elated today.  I love this feeling. Isn't it great to have this feeling everyday?  Anyway, had my quiet time before finally getting up to fix my bed.  I love God's message to me today. By the way, I'm reading from the Book of Job and Ephesians. These verses are very special because they're confirmations of God's promise to me.
"For he himself is our peace, who has made the two one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility, by abolishing in his flesh the law with its commandments and regulations. His purpose was to create in himself one new man out of the two, thus making peace, and in this one body to reconcile both of them to God through the cross, by which he put to death their hostility.  He came and preached peace to you who were far away and peace to those who were near. For through him we both have access to the Father by one Spirit."  Ephesians 2:14-18
Anyway, I went to Salon de Matt in Pioneer this afternoon.  This was recommended to me by my good friend Zenda.  She frequents this salon so I guess they must be good.

The salon was easy to locate.  Not far from my place so it's convenient.  The staff were very friendly and very professional.  Blatant voices of laughing and gossips of salon staff while doing my hair or nails are my pet peeve.  Thank God my experience in this salon was very pleasant.

You know, I'm not very adventurous with hair styles and hair colors.  I always prefer to be on the safe side.  That's why I had the same hair style for decades. Then I woke up this morning and decided to go for a new do and throw all my apprehensions out the window.  I'm glad I did.  *Grin*

I was very calm while Rodel explained to me what he's planning to do with my hair. Professional as he is, I didn't get scared because he seemed to know exactly what he's saying. So I let him do his magic, then Marvin took over.  I brought with me my own Revlon ColorSilk Luminista #120. This is safe to use because it's ammonia free. Honestly, I wasn't sure how my hair will look like after the application, but I wasn't about to chicken out on this.  I gotta do what I gotta do and that's to suck it up and just go for it.  As you can see, the changes still weren't drastic. I was quite happy with the result, but I still have a tiny bit of concern though.  I'm not sure if I can fix my hair the way they did when I take a shower after a long day.

Anyway, for now I'm a happy girl.

 At home... =)

Zzzzzz...

Sunday, January 22, 2012
I noticed recently that I'm always sleepy.  I work just like I used to.  I sleep eight hours a day and even longer on weekends.  I feel sleepy while working and it's just three in the afternoon.  Then around eight in the evening, I wanted to go to bed already.  My neighbor told me just now that she feels the same way and is also wondering why.

Hmm... Could it be because of age?

By the way, it's my brother's birthday today.  Happy Birthday, Chet!

Thankful Thursday

Thursday, January 19, 2012

My year started off pretty good.  My work is doing pretty well. Mom and Dad are stable.  My payables are manageable. I have a business idea which I'm excited to start exploring anytime this month.  I have true friends both here and abroad (bloggy friends included) who are constantly praying for me.  I am very blessed!

And above all, I am grateful that I am forgiven.

What are you thankful for this week?

Meet the Blogger

Last December 2011, I joined MrsMartinez's Holiday Blowout giveaway.  Two weeks ago I received an email from Mich informing me that I won.  Woohoo!

Mich and I met at Greenhills and had an early lunch at Tender Bob's.  She, unfortunately, witnessed how big my appetite was.  Haha!

Thanks for the goodies, Mich.  See you again soon!

TSMSS - Healing In This House

Saturday, January 14, 2012

This song is very special to me.  2007 was the year I experienced the lowest of lows in my life.  It was year 2008 when I got a promise from the Lord through this song. A promise that I kept in my heart... Against all hope, in hope I believed.  I know my God is faithful.

7-Days of Prayer and Fasting

Friday, January 13, 2012
It's 12:30 in the morning and I'm still wide awake. I guess it's the hot cocoa I had after dinner.

We just finished our church's annual seven-day prayer and fasting.  As a church, we begin each new year with this. It is our way of humbling ourselves before God and consecrating to Him the upcoming year. It is also the time when we corporately come into agreement and believe together for breakthroughs in our personal lives, families, finances and churches.  I'm very excited for what God is going to do next in my life and how God is going to unfold the miracles I've been believing for.

As early as January 2, even before we started fasting, God began showering me with blessings in the area of my work.  He has once again proven Himself faithful in His promise.
"Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this," says the LORD Almighty, "and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it."  Malachi 3:10
Fasting this year was difficult for me though.  It was really a struggle.  Because of the nature of my job, I had to exert much effort to bite my tongue and zip my lips when it was all too easy to let out ugly words than to simply smile.  We were all warned that as our body adjusts while we fast, there would be temporary bouts of mental annoyances like irritability.  Sometimes it felt more like it was beyond irritation.   But I thank God for His strength and His grace that I was able to make it to the finish line.

If there's one thing I immediately got from this year's prayer and fasting, it's embracing the entirety of who God is.  Simply put, He is my everything.

Lord, thank you for the victory.  Thank you for my breakthroughs and miracles. I give you all the glory and the honor... Lord Jesus!

Welcome 2012!

Sunday, January 1, 2012
Lord, thank you for the hope that you've given us.  Hope that this year will be full of blessings and favor from You.  Hope that this year we'll be seeing manifestation of our breakthroughs.

What a beautiful day.  Had a good night sleep last night.

Spent the New Year's eve at Edsa Shangri-la with my sister's family and my friend, Zenda.  First, we went to my parent's house. We had Dad's Beef Stroganoff. Yum!  I even had some to take home with me.  Then we went to Zenda's.  I love his dad's Tablea Tsokolate or Cacao Chocolate. Then off we went to Shangri-la for the countdown.  By the way, sorry the photos look grainy.  I forgot to turn on the flash (Grrr...)

Count down to 2012... Woohoo!

After the countdown, it was time to party!!!  We all enjoyed the 80's hits which included New Wave songs.  Woot!

Oh, and it's also my sister's birthday.  Happy Birthday, sissy!
