Thankful Thursday - God Is My Restorer

Thursday, March 26, 2009

Who would've ever thought I'd graduate again and wear a toga? Certainly, not me.

I graduated four times in my life - in prep school, elementary, high school and college. The only time I enjoyed my graduation day, as far as I could remember, was when I was in prep school. The three others, for lack of a better term, I wasn't at peace. I felt so incomplete. Therefore, I didn't enjoy "my" time which should have been three of the many exciting days of my life.

It didn't dawn on me right away that I was again graduating until I wore my toga. Those feelings of incompleteness I had back then went flashing back in my head. Then I realized God has allowed me to make up for those "lost times" and so I told my seatmate, who also happened to be a classmate and a friend, that I will most definitely make sure I'll enjoy this night to the fullest.

Then my name was called. I marched my way up to the stage to shake the hands of my pastors and received my certificate. I was so happy.

Those gloomy memories I had years back were now replaced with new memories of happiness, joy and fulfillment. And God made it all possible. Thank you, Lord!

God desires to restore to us as individuals that which Satan has stolen from us. God is the only one who can take a situation that has been in utter shambles and turn it into a beautiful masterpiece that is priceless.
"The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full." John 10:10

"He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake." Psalms 23:3

Fur Balls

Monday, March 23, 2009
These are my new pets. I bought them last March 12. They are Siberian hamsters which I fondly call fur balls. They're so small but they bite.

They just eat, sleep and play with their exercise wheel all day long. Aren't they cute?

Thankful Thursday - Freedom

Thursday, March 19, 2009

I thank the Lord for setting us free from the bondage of the enemy. My situation may not look any different from how it was two years ago, but I know that God is already setting my hubby and I up for one of the greatest breakthrough ever in our lives. Lord, I believe! Thank you for our breakthrough.

Yesterday morning I took a picture of my plant and its flower. This is how it looks like now. See the other bud on the left beginning to sprout?

It Bloomed

I took this picture early this morning with my phone camera. I noticed this white colored bud sticking out. I realized then that my Champaca plant has finally bloomed.

Victorious!

Monday, March 16, 2009
I had a really busy week last week. I took a day off from work last Friday to attend our church's Victory Weekend. Victory Weekend is a seminar/retreat that aims to focus on establishing a life-long walk with God and to deepen our relationship with Him. I was there to support Babette, a friend and a member of my small group which was just recently established. I was so proud of Babette. She gave her life to Jesus and decided to trust Him with all her heart. I never thought I'd be leading my own small group but God did say I will... and He did make a way! I will be helping another one from my group to learn more about God and hopefully she will be able to participate in the next VW which I think is scheduled on October. So... this is how it feels to be a proud mama. Haha! =D

On the 24th, my classmates and I are graduating from ENLI. Yipee! That's another event I'm looking forward to.

Well, I gotta go for now. Just thought of updating you guys of what's going on from my side of the world.

Thankful Thursday

Thursday, March 5, 2009

I was telling God last week that I needed money to pay off something that is due this week. I know my funds right now is not enough to cover it. I was telling God, "Lord, you said you're going to provide for me. You promised. Send me money, Lord." God knows how much I need it and I need it not next week but NOW. Lo and behold my mom called me in the office and said she's sending me money so I won't get stressed anymore. I didn't even asked her for it.

Amazing! I mean I expected God to provide for me of course but I never expected Him to course it through my mom and dad. I knew that they're also paying a lot for my mom's dialysis every week. God really moves in ways we don't expect but we can be sure that His ways are always perfect and always on time.

God, thank you!

My ENLI Testimony

Wednesday, March 4, 2009
As some of you know, I've been attending ENLI to better equip myself in engaging and sharing the Word of God to the lost. Every Nation Leadership Institute is a program that helps people develop a more thorough understanding of God’s Word and also enables us to live out its truths and impart it to others. It's a two-year program but it was cut a bit short and come March 24, my classmates and I are finally graduating. We were asked by our professor to make a short ENLI testimony and here's mine.

God spoke to me about using me for a specific assignment. But just like Jonah, I hid and ran away from God’s call. One of my reasons was, “I have no plan to be a pastor so I don’t need ENLI.” Guess what, I was swallowed up by a big whale, figuratively, and was spit out right smack in the middle of, yup, ENLI class. Again, God showed me that it’s useless to wrestle with Him because His purpose prevails.

ENLI taught me discipline. Because it required me to attend the Thursday Prayer Meetings, God provided me an avenue where I could get encouragement to counter all of life’s troubles. He gave me an opportunity to help others know who God is by allowing me to jumpstart my own small group. Certainly, God is using ENLI to train me specifically for that assignment He told me about. Lastly, because of ENLI, God empowered me to experience more of Him like never before. My life is changed.
