Thankful Thursday

Thursday, August 27, 2009

This week's theme is RESCUE. Exactly what I was asking God for.

I thank the Lord that He is still the the business of rescuing. My heart rejoices for this wonderful confirmation.

Most of the time we don't understand His ways and most especially His timing. But because we have faith in Him, we can be sure that we are in good hands. God knows what He's doing. I have been asking the Lord to rescue my beloved from the grip of the enemy. I believe in my heart that He is already at work even if I don't see anything yet in the natural. I'm praising God that He loves us so much to rescue us from whatever it is that's not from Him.
"Sing to the LORD! Give praise to the LORD! He rescues the life of the needy from the hands of the wicked." Jeremiah 20:13
I'm also thankful for:
  • My good health.
  • My mom. She's doing a lot better now. Spoke to her a few minutes ago. She said she's going to get the result of her MRI later this afternoon. With the way she sounded, everything seems fine.
  • God's provision.
  • Friends and prayer partners.
  • Answered prayers.
Lord, I'm giving you all the glory and honor!

Happy Birthday, Sylvia!!!

Tuesday, August 25, 2009
It's my friend Sylvia's birthday yesterday. Shoot! I greeted her just this afternoon. She used to blog a lot before, that's how we met on blogsville. We kept in touch since. She has been my prayer partner for a long time now.

Sylvia, know that I'm here for you and I love you, girly.

Happy birthday!

God bless you always. I'm standing in the gap and praying in agreement with you.

Today's theme is about FRIENDS. I thank God for them. They are a source of encouragement that would lift you up when you're down. They're blessings from God.

I had the chance to meet two blogger friends already --- Duncan from Canada when He came to visit Manila with his family and Janice from Singapore when I went there two weeks ago. It's always fun to meet brothers and sisters in Christ from here and abroad. I'm looking forward to meet more.

I also would like to thank all of you for praying for my mom. She's doing so much better now although she's still in the hospital for observation. I told her that prayers for her were from all over the globe and she was overjoyed. I thank God for all of you who prayed for my mom.

HOPE --- Today's theme is very timely. I was just thinking about it last night. I was asking myself and asking God if I'm still on the right track. I reasoned, "God, I still don't see changes in spite of praying about it for years." Then I was reminded in my spirit that God never lies. When He promised, He is faithful to make it come to pass no matter how my circumstance looks like right now. My hope is in the Lord. My hope is in His promises. As it is written, so shall it be.

Father, thank you that as I put my hope in You, I can be assured that I am victorious. I am assured that You will keep Your covenant with me. Thank you for your everlasting faithfulness. In Jesus' mighty name, amen.

Singapore - Day 5

Saturday, August 8, 2009
It's my last day here. In about four hours, I'm going to be heading down the airport for my flight back to Manila.

I'd like to thank my brother Chet for letting me stay in his house, for buying me food all the time and for making sure I was okay.

I'd also like to thank Ismail, Sebastiaan, Yan and all other Singaporean people I met along the way. Thank you for your hospitality and kindness.

Thank you also to Janice and her husband Leslie. They were super nice to me. I love the Fried Carrot Cake!

Thank you also to Des, who in spite of her busy schedule, met up with me. I will see you again and next time, you are going to show me around Malaysia and Indonesia.

To Toni, I know you wanted us to meet but your schedule did not permit it, it's okay, I'm going back here and I'll see you by then.

To my bloggy friends who kept me in their prayers, thank you.

Last but not the least, I'd like to thank the Lord for making my stay here very enjoyable and safe especially when I had to travel alone most of the time. I give you God all the glory!

Til my next adventure... bye!

Singapore - Day 4

I went for another adventure but this time it was late in the afternoon, around 4:30 pm. I was too lazy to get up and get ready. It was too bad that one blogger friend whom I was suppose to meet for the first time at 7 pm canceled at the last minute because of an emergency meeting in their office.

Anyway, I went to City Hall to catch the shuttle bus going the the Singapore flyer. I waited there and chatted with a nice lady who was so kind to assist me at the bus station. She was complaining of how unorganized the shuttle service was. In my head I was saying something like, "You call this unorganized? My goodness, if this is unorganized, I don't know how you'd call the mess we have back in Manila. Haha!"

Me before boarding the Singapore Flyer

The flyer was nothing extra ordinary really but the site was spectacular. It lasted for about 30 minutes. I took photos here and there. I met Mr. Chio Kian Huat and company inside the capsule. They were so nice. I wonder, is there anybody in Singapore that isn't nice? He even invited me to have dinner with them but had to beg off because I was going to meet my friend in Clarke Quey in 30 minutes.

Des and I met up at Clarke Quay. She's a former office mate. We had dinner there. Food was good. We had fun catching up and taking photos together.

Before I went home, I got to see her place at Jurong and her cat too! Isn't she cute?

A Note To God

I'd like to start my day by listing down what my heart truly wants to tell God.

I wondered at first if I went ahead of Him with this trip. Weeks before I left Manila I was so stressed with so many things like work, my business and this trip. Everything was like heading south. I even got sick a week before my flight. It was like something was stopping me to get on the plane and fly here to Singapore.

When I got here, I felt God really took care of me. The minute the plane landed, I was barking like a dog with my cough. My temperature was higher than normal. I was so scared that the immigration officer would detect this and kick me out of Singapore back to Manila. But I became "normal" for a short while. When I got home to my brother's house, my temperature flared up and I was back coughing. That's when I slept the whole afternoon.

God sent me people along the way to help me out with going around the place since my brother couldn't because of his work schedule. God really took care and protected me.

Father, you have been so good to me. You have provided me with my needs. You sent along people to give me assistance while I'm here. You fed me with good food. You watched every step I took. Lord, I could feel your hands embracing me. I want more of your presence, Father. I hope in my own little way, I'd be able to put a smile on your face. Thank you, Father for your patience, understanding and your love for me. I give you all the glory, Lord. In Jesus' mighty name, amen.

Singapore - Day 3

Thursday, August 6, 2009
I woke up late, around 10 am. My brother came home from work early today. He bought me food for lunch. It was about 1 pm when I decided to go to Sentosa... by myself! You know, I'm pretty proud of myself for being able to do this alone. Never thought I'd be able to. And I had fun! I've met nice people along the way.

Me at Sentosa

It was around 5 pm when I decided to go back home to freshen up because I'd be meeting with a blogger friend for the first time at 7 pm. Her name is Janice. We've been blogger friends for more than a year. And when I got to Singapore, I left her a note on FB. I was so happy when she texted me. We met up together with her husband. They treated me to a nice sumptuous dinner and toured me around the city. Janice and her husband were so hospitable. I'm so glad to have met up with them.

Thankful Thursday

I'd like to thank the Lord for keeping me safe since I arrived in Singapore. I also would like to thank God for my brother who's taking care of my needs while I'm here. May God bless him. I would also like to thank you, my friends, for praying and remembering me even during my absence in blogsville. Love ya!

I'd like to thank the Lord for His patience, His love and His provision for me. To God be the glory!

Singapore - Day 2

Wednesday, August 5, 2009
I woke up feeling much better. Thank God! I first watched the live coverage of President Cory on the internet while having breakfast. It was lunch time when my brother came home from work. We had lunch together, him watching sports on TV and I was glued on the internet watching Cory's funeral. I was in tears watching the video.

Anyway, it was around one in the afternoon whe
n I headed out to start my adventure. Note that I was alone knowing nothing about the city. Two kind Singaporean students, Vanessa and Ranjitha, assisted me at the bus station and MRT station. I went straight to Ducati shop along Lavender Street to pick up an oil kit my boss bought from his last trip to Singapore. Mr. Ismail Johari was so kind to ask his friend, Yan, to show me around the city. Isn't that cool?

With Sebastiaan & Ismail

God is really good. Thank you, Lord, for keeping me safe and allowing me to meet these wonderful Singaporean people.

Salamat... President Cory

Today is the day of burial of our beloved former President Corazon Cojuangco Aquino. I'd like to personally pay my respect to this woman of honor, integrity and honesty. An icon of democracy. A mother to us all. Our beloved President. My heart breaks once again for this great lost.

President Cory, we love you and Salamat!

Singapore - Day 1

Tuesday, August 4, 2009
I arrived at Singapore at 10:20 am. I was praying that I'd stop coughing and that my temperature goes down to normal. It was a bit high when I left. I was sick for almost a week now. Thank God I was "normal" when I arrived at Singapore. My brother picked me up at the airport and went straight home. By the way, I have this thing about planes landing, not so much with the take off. My ears hurt so bad. I couldn't hear people talking, couldn't even hear my own voice. I asked the immigration officer to repeat what he was asking me three times. Three times! Can you believe that?! I ended up reading his lips because I still didn't hear him. My ears popped thirty minutes after. Boy, it hurts!

With my brother at Chiangi Airport

I slept the whole afternoon and guess what, I'm sick again! I can't believe this is happening. I took some pictures but not much because I wasn't really feeling well.

I'll try to post again tomorrow. In the mean time, I need to get some rest.
