Thankful Thursday

Thursday, May 29, 2008

This week I thank God for:
  • My new phone. I just realized that months back I told God that I wanted to buy a new camera and a new iPod video. I could buy them now, of course, by using my credit card. BUT I won't! That'll add up on my credit card debt which I'm trying to pay off the soonest possible time. But God knows what I want (read: not need) and He gave me a phone that has both a camera (better than my old one) and an mp3 player (like that of an iPod). And here's a bonus, it also has a video recorder. All in one. Surely, God knows better.
If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!" Matthew 7:11
  • The half sack of rice I received. You see, that's a staple here in the Philippines and the price for this had gone up. Quite a number of people can't even afford to buy this for their family anymore. Then our company has given all its employees half sack of rice for free! Thank you, Lord!
And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:19
  • Wisdom. My friend was suppose to give me a pup. A Shih Tzu. I was preparing for it already and I was so excited. But for days I didn't have peace about having a pet at this time in my life. I wouldn't be able to care for it as much I want to because I'm always out. I thank God for the wisdom because if I went along with my plan, it might cause me and the pup more harm than good. I'm sure someone else is there, more equipped, to care for that pup.
If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him." James 1:5

Pia,

You are so wise. Wouldn't we be better if we just didn't want so month and just went with what we needed. We would probably be happier.

Thanks for visiting my blog. When the time comes that you are home more and able to take care of a pup that you are able to get one. That are a joy. Ripley has been quite expensive, but that is not the usual.

You're such a sweetheart.
Blessings!

Pia,
I love your thankful heart and that you see His Word in your life!!! I love how you are giving God the glory! And, I love to see your surrendered heart to the Lord. Not everyone would put off buying something they want. But, look how our good God rewarded you! And, not everyone would change their plans (pet). But, you are listening to the Holy Spirit and that is AWESOME!!!!

You asked on my post what the lilac flowers are. There are lilies and "Angel Face" roses.

God is gracious!

Blessings,
Tracy

What a generous gift of your company to give you the rice for free. I didn't know that rice got so expensive in your country - sorry to hear that.
Yes, pups do need a lot of time - especially in the beginning...great wisdom God gave you.

Thank you so much for sharing your grateful heart with us.

Blessings to you and your precious family.
