Which Report Will You Believe?

Monday, July 3, 2006
For years, I've been depressed on and off everyime I get my doctor's report regarding my health. Fear would overcome me for every single bad news I hear from my doctors. I've been disappointed with God many times in the past because I've been praying like crazy and still nothing changed. The more I prayed, the worse the reports got.

I was told to believe and claim my healing because that's God's will for everyone of us. So I did, but I didn't quite understand how that works. I thought once I start believing and claiming it for myself, I'll get instant results. Gosh, I was wrong! Sure, some people get healed instantly like it was a microwave miracle. But for some, like me, it takes time. Why? Only God knows and I can only assume. One thing is for sure, though, God has a reason for it, we'll find out about it eventually, in time. So while we're in it, which report will we believe?

The medical report says one thing but the Word of God says another. You have to decide which one you're going to believe. I had to make a choice. Was I going to entertain fear and get depressed the whole time while my mind try to absorb the FACT that I'm sick and hopeless or was I going to believe in God's TRUTH that says by His wounds we are healed (Isaiah 53:5)? God's report says, "He took our infirmities and carried our diseases" (Matthew 8:17). "They will lay hands on the sick, and they will get well" (Mark 16:18). I chose the latter. Along with it I say, "I'm getting better everyday". In time, I'd be able to say what Lindsay Roberts said, "Soon the symptoms caught up with my faith and they began to line up with the Word of God. Today I am healed!" I know I'm getting there.

Thank you for this wonderful encouraging post.
It's not always easy to " be strong and of good courage", is it? That's where we need to have faith and you are a great example of that:-)
May God bless you abundantly!

Luv ya, girl.

God's Grace.

Pia - yes we are to believe God, but also understand that His ways are not ours and that means that not every healing happens. Why? Because designs it that way. The name it and claim it theology -suggests that it is you who are doing something wrong (sin, unforgiveness, generational stuff) but I don't buy that. I really don't.

I hope you get your healing but I want you to know that you are loved regardless. That's not to say God won't heal - he does - and I've seen spectacular intervention from our heavenly Father, but I've also grieved where His plans were different.

sorry this sounds like a lecture. Hang in there - and continue to let your heart be transformed by His love!

You are healed in Jesus' Name, believe and receive it now. It says in The Word "By His Stripes, you are healed"---yes, that is what it says, so claim it now.

corry: it's so much easier to give in to depression but when we decide to put our trust in Him, we'll realize that we can have peace and that feels so much better. being positive affects our health on a positive way too doesn't it? i pray that you'll be healed too. nothing is impossible with Him. luv yah! :)

lorna: i'd like to believe that all of us can have our miracle. whether i get healed in this lifetime or not, i've chosen to believe what God said and it feels so much better to be positive. i just simply don't want to wallow in what my medical report usually says. i prayed and prayed and thank God, i'm getting positive results lately. because of this, i cling to His promise of healing all the more. no, i don't think your message as lecturing. i love to know other people's views and insights. i welcome opinions and i thank you for sharing yours to us. God bless. :)

barbara: thank you stopping by and for the encouragement. God bless. :)

My Friend Pia: I whole-heartedly agree with Lorna. God does as He choses in heaven and on earth. Earthly healings are not based on our degree of faith, per say. If all healings were God's will, then why do people and children die? God loves you and I know your faith in God is enormous. DON'T BOX HIM INTO YOUR OWN BELIEFS. He is not constrained by you. As you have always done and do, submit to Him for whatever HE wants to do in your life! If it is His will, can He not be glorified in your sickness? Of course He can and is, even now! I pray, dear friend, that you would surrender your perceptions of Him to Him and not feel that your attitude, per say, is determining your test results more than God's sovereign will! God hasn't healed you in the way you want at this moment in time and if you accept this obvious fact is Your God disappointed inYou? No! It is a fact! Don't try to manipulate God. He's Your God and friend and He owns you and me. Cry in His arms and give up your convictions of who you think He ought to be! He is God and He isn't going to line Himself to you or me - we are to line Himself to Him! That is our lesson from the Christmas tree and adoption thing we went through together last year. We were "believing God" but it wasn't God's will! WE MISSED IT! But onward we go, taking our lessons with us to grow up in wisdom of Him. Don't be taken in by a cultish belief system! I Love you, Andrea

andrea: thank you for sharing with us your views on this. i think you got the wrong impression that i'm trying to manipulate God to do what i want. no, i'm not. as i've said, whether i get healed in this lifetime or not is up to Him. but i chose to believe what He said about healing. i'm sure every sick person would want to get healed and i can assure you, i'm one of them. every good result i get, i give glory to God because i know, it wouldn't happen if it wasn't His will. at the same time, i'd also like to stay positive with the thought in mind that God performs miracles and i can have mine... again, if He wills it. see, whatever happens life has to go on. if i get my healing which i'm praying so hard for, it's all because of Him. if i don't, then He has other plans for me. in my heart it's always "God's will be done" because He knows best but i'm also not giving up my chances for a miracle because it does happen.

why people and children die, only He knows. there are things in this life that we can't really understand, like i can ask everyday why my two sons died, why He allowed it to happen and still i won't get any answers in this lifetime. but that doesn't change my beliefs that God still loves me just the same. He just have reasons for allowing and not allowing things to happen. same goes with my desire to get healed. i don't understand everything that's happening but i can be assured that He knows best and allows things to happen for a reason.

let me just end this by saying that i am just a mere servant of God who's hoping to get healed and believing for a miracle. but at the end of it all, God's will will still prevail.

God bless you, dear sis. luv yah! :)

Hey Pia,

Robert thanks you for emailing him, I opened your site to see if you wrote me, and, yes, you had, well, Robert was looking at the same message from the living room that I had looked at from the garage and we looked at the message at the exact same time. Is this a God Experience? I believe this is just a reminder of His Faithfulness.

Great post Pia. Even much greater is your choice and proclamation that you believe the TRUTH.

For no man, medical report, scientific verdict, natural trends that runs against the TRUTH OF GOD can overturn The Truth.

The TRUTH OF GOD will forever prevail.

"For we cannot do anything against the truth, but only for the truth"-2 Corinthians 13:8

"Not at all! Let God be true, and every man a liar."- Romans 3:4

Any report on earth, in the heavenlies or beneath the earth that contradicts the TRUTH OF GOD is a lie.

Dear Pia, your choice & proclamation of THE TRUTH OF GOD today will surely set you free from this health challenge as long as the LORD lives.

Hi Pia,

I continue to lift you up to the Father for your ultimate healing, and trust that, meanwhile, He will keep you in perfect peace as your mind is stayed on Him--that's what He promised. We got difficult news yesterday and it felt like a punch in the belly. But God is still on the throne, and above all, we want His perfect glorious will for our lives. As I struggle with continual health things myself, I relate to so much of what you're feeling. Sometimes I have to consider that maybe, just maybe, it brings more glory to God in this lifetime when we suffer well for His sake. I've learned so much more about His character and love and provision when I've been in the deep dark valleys. We sure don't have all the answers but we can trust the One who holds the key to our future. He loves you, Pia, and hasn't abandoned you.

Your sweet spirit shines through, Pia, even when you struggle. God bless my precious friend. I'm so thankful that you share from the heart. It ministers to me.

we all experience tribulation and will continue to experience them while we're here on earth. but we can have PEACE, JOY and HOPE because of God and His promises to us. let's hold firmly to what He says about each of our situation. He will see us through. praying for you... (((HUGS)))

He is there ... most certainly, in our depression, pain, and sorrow.

Oswald Chambers said it best - "Do you wonder why you are having to experience some great sorrow? Over the next 10 years you will find many others afflicted in the same way. You will tell them how you suffered and were comforted. As the story unfolds, God will apply the anesthetic He once used on you to them. Then in the eager look followed by the gleam of hope that chases the shadow of despair from the soul, you will know why you were afflicted. And you will bless God for the discipline that filled your life with such a treasure of experience and helpfulness."

God is good all the time and He is working in you His good pleasure...praying for you, sister. I don't know the reasons but I do know that your life is a witness of Him and an encouragement to many. Hang in there!

I think it's important to remember as well that we are only human. Our bodies are not perfect and they will fail from time to time - sometimes more than others. Yes, God can and does heal but just because we do not receive a healing does not mean that He hasn't heard our prayers or that He doesn't care about us.

Rest in His hands, and no matter what happens, know that He is ultimately in control. Sometimes His plans might not include a healing, and sometimes His plans might include a healing that doesn't happen for some time.

Hope you've had a good day today!...thinking of you tonight and saying a prayer for your health.

Pia, there is a reason and a season for everything. I should know having been through a lot myself in the past 10 years or so. However, my faith in God despite my own weaknesses has kept me going not only for myself but also for my two girls who really, really need a strong role model in their young lives right now.

In December of last year, during a shocking crime wave in Belize city, a young mother holding her infant son was shot at very close range (the mother in her spine and the young child in the arm). Lisa Garoy and her child both survived, and she is determined to take control of her life.

Lisa Garoy has fought to defy modern medicine every day which said that she would never walk again. Just recently she took her first steps (live on camera) for all the world to see that despite what the medical reports predicted, God's will prevailed and she is a living testimony of faith and survival.

Here is an excerpt of her story:

To the surprise of her family and friends, twenty-three year old Lisa Garoy has been making remarkable progress in her fight to walk again. Seven months ago the young mother of two was shot in the back as she stood holding her baby son outside her home in Taylor’s Alley. Police believe this man Brandell Michael fired the shots in retaliation for another incident that happened earlier that night involving Garoy’s boyfriend Leroy Rhaburn and her two brothers Brent and Burton Garoy.

Lisa Garoy, Recovering shooting victim:

“I no know if he meant to do this to me. I would want to meet him and ask him if he meant to do this to me.”

Eleven month old Leroy Rhaburn, Jr.(Garoy's infant son) was also injured in the attack and although there is limited movement to the child's right hand, he is happy and healthy. But Garoy’s emotional scars have affected her freedom as she fears the violence may return.

Lisa Garoy
“I no know what to say because I no think this done from through here. I still no like go out there and sit down. I stay right in here. If I go out there I would stay for only fifteen minutes and come in back, because I would think about a lot of things.”

Garoy says it was the support from her mother and the community that helped her survive the terrible ordeal. She started walking on her own only two months ago following one of her weekly physical therapy sessions at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital. Today she keeps busy by spending time with her son and daughter and doing small household chores. She is still unable to bend her legs and does suffer from some swelling and pain.

Lisa Garoy
“Anytime I go out, people tell me that I am strong and let me keep it up.”

Brandel Michael remains on remand in Hattieville Prison, charged with use of deadly means of harm and aggravated assault.

Pia, know that you are in my thoughts and prayers today and always for a similar healing miracle.

Peace and Blessings,
Enid
