God's Gift

Wednesday, January 18, 2006
I have been praying for Andrea about the same time I was also asking God for something. And getting the news that they were denied of Matt's adoption is heartbreaking, well, that's how I've felt. Again, it's God's decision. We may not have all the answers now to our WHY's but God said we should trust Him. These are God's promises I was reminded of during the lowest point in my life:

"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart." Jeremiah 29:11-13

"Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." Proverbs 3:5-6

"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." Romans 8:28

God knows what's happening and His back is not turned against us. It's just that He has better plans in stored for us, far better than we've expected. It may be difficult today but God wants us to receive His gifts, greater gifts than we've ever thought of receiving. I'm sure multitudes of angels in heaven are already busy packing those gifts for us ready for delivery.

Lord, I'm ready!

Hey girl, it's so good to see you steadfast in faith and we are so grateful.
Yes, God's plans are so much better and more abundant then we can imagine. Our faith and patience will be rewarded. We pray you will get yours soon and we will rejoyce with you when you do!

Please take good care of yourself and try not to let this cold get out of hand. It's a nasty one. Drink plenty, take C if possible and wrap up good! (mamu's advice for the day, hehe).

Luv ya bunches:-)

God's Grace.

The truth is no matter what happens to us in life: The Lord is good and His mercies endures forever. This is what the scripture says: "...offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name."- Hebrews 13:15. Declaring His goodness when the circumstances around does not justify it.

It's so good to see your faith strong through this trial!

Another verse to ponder

A righteous man may have many troubles, but the Lord delivers him from them all. Psalm 34:19.

In His time Pia, wait on the Lord!

Luv ya my sweet sister in Christ!

So true! and so difficult! It is so hard sometimes to trust God when we don't know the answer to our question. But God's plans are so much better for us, and God's promises are so reassuring.

His love endures forever! Stay strong, my beautiful sister in Christ!

I just left Andrea a comment on her site. If God is for us, who can be against us? What a day when we finally see Jesus face to face and see the quilts of our lives woven together. I know Andrea is thankful for a friend like you.

Love ya,

God knows just what we need and when we need it, even though we do not. This is the very essence of "the trial of our faith". I'm so glad to see you coming out of your trial shining as gold, Pia!

My prayers are still with you and Andrea.

I am so thankful for you and your witness. I know we look forward so much to the blessings of this life but also remember you're building up an eternal treasure that will make the struggles of this life seem a small price. You're never very far from me in thought or prayer.

Did anyone ever tell you that you are beautiful?

That is a beautiful statement of th eimportance of total submission to the will of God.

Would that we all would submit.

This reminds me of back when my wife and I couldn’t seem to have children. The few times we were able to be pregnant, she would carry for a few months and we would lose our precious little one. It was devastating. It killed us inside.

Things got worse when she had these horrible pains. Her mom and all of her sisters had suffered ovarian or uterus cancer, so when they found a growth on her ovary, our hearts were crushed. Nothing in life mattered as much to her as having a baby.

Our prayers were answered in our darkest hour when the doctor went in to take a biopsy and the growth just fell off. After that, all I had to do was to look at her to make her pregnant.

We never know why we suffer some of the heart ache we do. It seems so unfair, so wrong and so very painful. The pain can be like a cancer that destroys us and everyone else in our lives. Turning our eyes on Jesus requires a miracle all its own.

God bless and keep you, Pia. You are so precious in His sight.

I think that God allows us to go through difficult times so that we learn to draw closer to Him, to learn to trust Him and to build up our faith.

The verses from Jeremiah that you quoted are the same ones that I call my own for school. Thank you for the reminder of those words :o)

It seems I'm always asking why. Maybe one day I will learn to simply say thank you to God even if the outcome is what I want. Because deep inside, I know it is what's best for me...because God said so!

Luv ya!

Pia,

You are a blessing to all of us and a wonderful example of faithfulness! I also love these verses that you have written here. I know that God will bless you and Jec because you stand fast in Him.

Continuing to pray for you.

Wonderfully said.

He does have our best interest in mind because He is ever mindful of His children.

I was struck by the closing words of your post. "Lord I'm ready".

Isn't that all that He ever asks of us? That we be "ready" when He returns?

Blessings on you
