It's Beginning To Feel A Lot Like Christmas

Sunday, December 3, 2006
How time flies. It's December once again and soon it'll be the start of another year. I wonder how the new year would be like for us. Hmm... I can only hope for the best. Mom and dad are spending white Christmas with my brother's family in Newark. My SIL and nephew, Andre, are spending Christmas with me which I think is a very good idea because if not, I'll be spending Christmas alone. Bad idea? I think so too. Well, my tree is up since October, I always put mine up right after my birthday. You'd say it's early? Well, when I was a kid, my mom would put up the tree as soon as the "ber" month starts and that'll be around September 15. Ha! Now that's early!

Anyway, I'm so looking forward to December 26 because my hubby's coming home! Yipee! Although we won't be able to celebrate our 4th anniversary and spend Noche Buena together this year, we will during the Media Noche and all the special occasions in the years to come. Yup, my hubby's coming home to stay.

At the service last night, I got so encouraged with the message our pastor shared that what God has promised, it will come to pass. So for all those who feel hopeless, don't be. We serve a faithful and mighty God who can do even the impossible. Our job is to BELIEVE. Have you ever heard the saying that God helps those who help themselves? Well, uh, yeah, but I think it's more correct to say that God helps those who are helpless. I hope you too will be encouraged today as we remember who God really is.

Happy weekend!

I'm so glad your husband is coming home to stay! You can celebrate Christmas a day late together...

Your words were a blessing to me. My four year old is having a long dental procedure where they have to put her under anathesia tomorrow morning. This was an encouragement to trust her into God's care.

Blessings, Pia!

dawn: everytime i need to put down my tree, i feel bad because i've grown so attached to it already and putting it back in the box makes me feel really sad. funny because every year i feel that way. i feel sad when christmas is nearing its end. i love christmas very much. it's my favorite time of the year.

i love my new look too. i couldn't have done it without drea's help.

hi pia,

i'm so glad your husband is coming home also. i know you've both missed each other so much.

i purposely came here tonite because you always have something inspirational and encouraging to say. tonite i needed it. i'm so glad i know Jesus, and have Him in my heart. i don't know what i'd do if i couldn't reach Him in my times of need. He truly is faithful. thanks for the encouragement.

if it makes you feel good to keep your tree up longer, or throughout the year, go on and do so. who says you can't keep it up all year if you want to. sometimes i eat my dessert first. who says it has to be eaten after your main course? may sound a little silly (*lol*), but if keeping your tree up makes you feel happy and good, just do it! have an awesome week!

blessings,

sylvia

sylvia: i'm so glad that i could encourage people in my own little way. it's all for Him. well, about the tree, i get sad putting it down but i get so excited too when i put them up. it'll look silly having my tree up the whole year although i can, but i haven't got the nerves to do that just yet. haha! =)

Your Christmas tree is so lovely =)
Take care, lieve zus.

i'm so happy too. i prefer the slim tree because if it's bigger than that, it'll eat up too much space. if i have a bigger house, i like a bigger tree and fatter. hehe...
