Count Your Blessings

It's all work for me lately. After office, I teach English to a Korean national for two hours a day. That's extra income for me which is good. I remember a month ago, I was telling God to help me find somebody who needs to learn English as their second language. Two weeks later, my broker introduced me to one of her clients, a Korean, who wanted to learn English and was willing to pay. Isn't that neat?

Nothing much really happened since I last updated my blog but I'd like to leave this verse to you which I've been meditating on for the past few weeks. It's in James 4:2-3 and it says, "You want something but don't get it... You do not have, because you do not ask God. When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures." This made me rethink of what I'm asking God for and made me look into my heart to see if there's anything there that's hindering me from receiving the fullness of God's blessings.

This morning while I was browsing the net, I saw this picture and it broke my heart. How often do we complain about so many things in life? And here's a child who doesn't even have a home and food to eat for survival.

Let's not forget to count our blessings!

It's so easy to turn away when we fail to count our blessings. It's a great blessing for me to see your post today. ;-)

May God have mercy on these little ones.

So good to hear from you and know you are ok.

I like the verse you ponder on. Makes me think as well.
We tend to overlook the blessings, mostly because God blesses in the things we need and they may not always be what we want. :-)

Luv ya, girl.

God's Grace.

hi pia, i'm glad to hear that you're working and even have the extra job teaching english. i remember when you were praying for a job earlier this year; God is really faithful. you're constantly in my thoughts and prayers. thanx for sharing that word. i constantly pray for myself to stay focused on God's Word and the spiritual things so i don't get caught up in selfishness and material things. stay encouraged.

hugs,
sylvia

KC: i sat back and thought of what God did for me and still is doing. and i looked at this picture and said - i'm so blessed. i may have gone through so much in life but God never left me alone. God blessed me with people like you.

corry: i thought about the things i was asking God for and i'm pretty sure they're in line with God's will. i realized that i have to let go of how i wanted things to happen and just let God do it. God has His own ways of doing things and it's the best. so meditating in these verses helped me let go of the ways i thought was the best and let God take the lead. thanks for being there for me always. God bless.

enid: you're welcome.

audrey: i got so depressed too. it's so hard to even think of these children suffering like this. God help them.

sylvia: God is faithful. i'm believing God for so many things and i know they'll all come to pass. God loves us too much to let us stay where we are now. thank you for remembering me in prayer. God bless you.

I've been trying something new. I've been thanking God for the blessings in my life. How many times to I ask for His help yet I forget to say Thank You. We have so much to be thankful for if we just open our eyes.

It was great hearing from you :)

Just stopped by to see hello and to witness what God has being doing in your life. Was blessed to see that even though you have suffered and your trials are difficult, God has been faithful. The restoration of your marriage, your crisis of belief and the teaching English job, the apartment. PTL! I have been going through many trials and much suffering as well. But, God has shown me that He loves us and that we "are covered." In His perfect timing, provision is granted while His perfect will is attained. I continue to pray for you and yours.
