Waiting Is Like Marination

Wednesday, June 11, 2008
My friend, Zenda, gave me the most interesting analogy about waiting. According to her, waiting is like marination. The meat gets pinched, pounded, tossed about, seasoned, etc. Ouch! Then we let the meat sit untouched for a period of time (that's the waiting part). Then we cook the meat with fire (not again! Ouch!). When done, the meat tastes yummy and has such delightful aroma. Now imagine you're the meat.
For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11
He makes all things beautiful in His time.

i like this analogy with marinating :)there've been many times it gets compared to metal and gold and how precious stones are made, but this one is different. :)

have a great day!

yeah, different but it does make sense, doesn't it? =D

Yes, waiting is the hardest part because we were so used to know the processes involved while waiting. But with the Lord, we are always in the dark and must rely solely on faith and His promises. But He's always faithful with His promises. Thanks for the post. God bless.

mel: yup, it's so hard to wait. when we understand what's going on around us, that's not faith anymore. faith is trusting God in spite of the circumstances around us. God bless you my friend.

amrita: yeah, i think so too. blessings! =)
