"Me" Time

Saturday, March 9, 2013
What a beautiful day!  Woke up really early. Prayed. Got up and fed my fur baby Sushi. Had breakfast and went to do some filing for my work.  Just taking a short break here while listening to my fave 80's New Wave music.

It's "me" time today.  My nanny had her day off.  Hmm... Let's see, what shall I do today?

Oh, I had a haircut two days ago.  I decided to chop my hair short.  I think it's about time since I lost a lot of hair late last year, my hair looked so limp and thin. I didn't take a picture of myself yet. Will do soon.

My weight is now under control, but since my doctor increased my steroid dosage since I had another flare a few days back, my face and upper body are beginning to grow big again.

Sigh!

This really upsets me.   When things are beginning to go back to normal... slowly... suddenly I'm back to square one.

Argh!!!

Though I know this is just a minor set back, still...

Anyway, I don't want to dwell on that.  As I've said, today is a beautiful day.  So I intend to enjoy my "me" time the best I can.

Have a great day, my friends!

Sigh...

I hope my doctor tapers my steroid dosage already. It's really getting so frustrating when I look at myself at the mirror. I gained so much weight in a span of a month from having an appetite like a gorilla's. I couldn't stay out from an airconditioned room for long without sweating like an animal. I'm losing hair like they're running a marathon and have a mind of their own.  None of my jeans fit anymore. When I do wear them, I'd look like a gigantic sausage. My vision became so blurry. It's so frustrating!

Sigh...

Forgive me for ranting... I'm just really frustrated.

Broken Trust

Friday, June 8, 2012
Aside from work that's definitely keeping my plate full these days, I've also been contemplating on whether or not I'll write a post about something that I went through these past weeks that I felt like wasted my time and made me very disappointed in the people I thought were my friends.  I remember saying in my last post that perhaps I'll write about the jungle and its inhabitants.  Well, I finally decided that I will.

I have a lot of "friends", but I only have a handful of people I consider true friends.  Respect and trust are two very important ingredients in what I call friendship.  These people I consider true friends don't talk behind my back.  If they see something wrong, they'd tell me directly.   If, for some reason, they tell me one thing, they will not alter their stories regardless of who they are talking to. My true friends know that I hate lies.

Fairly basic expectations from friends, right?

My life became kinda complicated these past weeks because I was dragged into an incident I had nothing to do with in the first place.  Part of my job as a financial/insurance advisor is to ask for referrals. There I was just minding my own business when an irate ex-girlfriend had a dispute with the guy I was asking referrals from.  I didn't know that there was a text war already going on between them. Thus, my involvement in what seems an endless brouhaha. Honestly, with all the stories I heard from both of them, the "he said, she said,"  I don't understand their point of dragging me into their mess.  Really, I don't! Whatever is going on between the two of them is not my business and I have no intention of making it my business.

Forgive me for ranting, but I'm just letting off steam.

With what I have on my plate now, I certainly don't have time for this nonsense. Oh, and by the way, I'm sorry to say that I don't have the cure for insecurities. Lastly, one is not called a Christian by simply KNOWING the Bible and attending church service.  It's LIVING it.

Just Letting Off Steam...

What is courtesy?

Dictionary.com defines courtesy as excellence of manners or social conduct; polite behavior.  I like Merriam-Webster dictionary's definition. It says "behavior marked by polished manners or respect for others".  Wow... polished manners... respect for others...

In this modern world where short cuts are prevalent and technology is upgrading faster than my hair is growing, I strongly believe that basic manners do not go out of style.

Since I am in sales, I encounter people of all sorts.  Some are very professional even without having a diploma to brag about,  and yet, they possess such an admirable trait. For others, I wonder if, because of their very high level of educational attainment, courtesy got bumped off their systems.  If these people are barbaric, uncivilized or primitive in nature, I would understand if they don't know how to spell the word COURTESY, let alone practice it. Wouldn't you? But professionals in their respective fields... and Christians?  Seriously???

I know this is not a usual theme here in my blog, but will you just allow me to let off steam today?  I am just so irked at people who I know claim to be followers of Jesus, raise their hands during praise and worship at church, but do not possess an inkling of courtesy in their bodies.

Here's my point.  Nobody's perfect.  We all know that. But PLEASE have the decency to practice courtesy.  If you need to cancel meetings, if you couldn't make it on time, the list goes on... Call... Text...  You see, MY TIME is also IMPORTANT.  If you can not send one single text message or make a single call from that hi-tech phone of yours, I suggest that you might as well dump that useless thing. Or better yet, ask yourself this --- Would you act the same way, with the lack or absence of courtesy, when you are to have a meeting with Jesus?

Think about it!
