Hot Hat Party and the Hobbit

Monday, December 17, 2012
We had our office's Hot Hat Christmas Party last Tuesday, December 11. Fun games, good food, gifts... Happiness!

Then my friends and I watched The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey last Thursday, December 13, at the Mall of Asia. Wasn't really a fan of the movie... never liked The Lord of the Rings to begin with, but I did enjoy the food served before the movie started.  Hmm... no wonder I'm gaining so much weight. Hehe...

With Alma, Zenda and Ino at MOA

I had such a busy week again, but nonetheless, my week spelled F-U-N.

Now, it's back to work for me.  Have to finish my deliveries and errands this week. Oh, and there's another Christmas party this weekend.

It's almost Christmas!  Yey!  My favorite time of the year.  It'll be bittersweet for my family because we'll be celebrating Christmas without Dad for the first time. We miss him so much!

Watched my fave movie with my very good friend Enoch.

Titanic

Sunday, April 15, 2012
Did you know that today, April 15, is the 100th year when RMS Titanic sank in the North Atlantic Ocean after colliding with an iceberg during her maiden voyage?

I googled Titanic while watching Titanic: A Century Later on the National Geographic Channel hoping to see at least one living survivor on record, but I read that Ms. Elizabeth Gladys "Millvina" Dean, the last survivor of the Titanic had died already last May 31, 2009.

The movie Titanic shown 15 years ago by James Cameron is definitely one of my favorites.

Nothing much going on here really.  I just thought I'd post something about Titanic today.

Totally Random

I finally got the results of my APE (Annual Physical Exam)this afternoon and praise God, everything's okay except for one test. I'd  be going back to the clinic on Thursday to consult a doctor.  This is just a minor thing, but I wanted to make sure that I do everything right. Besides, consultation is free.

Anyway, my friends and I watched Hunger Games last Saturday.  I saw the trailer weeks before I watched the movie and I wasn't too fascinated with it.  But I did get curious with all the buzz and its comparison to the Twilight saga.  So yeah, I watched.

Well, sorry to all the fans of Hunger Games, but I guess this is just not my cup of tea. =(

Please pray for my dad.  He had his CT Scan and X-ray today and results will be released after three days I think.  I hope and pray that the results will be favorable.

I'm A Happy Girl

I cooked!  Yey!

Well, I do a little for myself, but I don't usually invite friends over and cook.  This time I did.  I just prepared a very simple, no brainer local dish - Sinigang for my guests. Definitely one of my favorites! Thank God it turned out okay.  This inspired me to take out our old recipe notebook and start cooking again.  Nothing complicated, just simple dishes.  I was thinking of preparing Dad's Italian Spaghetti with meatballs next. I love Dad's recipe!

Anyway,  this week has been pretty busy for me.  But I still had some fun time with friends.  Well, these weren't really planned.  We were just at the right place, at the right time.

Last Thursday, after our prayer and worship night, my friends and I watched This Means War starring Reese Witherspoon, Chris Pine, Tom Hardy and Til Schweiger.  We all had a good laugh watching this movie.

The following day, Friday, I went to the grocery to get the ingredients I needed for today's lunch with friends then I went straight to our Bible Study night which I was assigned to lead this week.  We discussed Psalm 34.  What a beautiful, beautiful chapter it was.

Guess what happened next.

We party crashed!  Lol!

My friend's friend's sister (Uh, do you follow?) celebrated her 18th birthday and we were all invited to come to her place and eat.  Talk about perfect timing!  We were starving!  Haha!

I just took a shot of an existing photo and cropped it that's why these photos are blurry.  Sorry for that.

Anyway,  my week went pretty well.  I'm a happy girl. Thank you, Lord!

What a Week!

Huff... Puff...

Just got back from climbing the stairs from ground to 17th floor... twice! That's for my legs and cardio work out.  I do that often as a form of exercise.  It helps a lot listening to my fave radio station Magic 89.9 Saturday Slam which takes me back to the 90's.

What a week!

My friends and I had a feeding program last Wednesday, December 14, at the Hospicio de San Jose, a hospice, in Manila. Zenda and Maui were the ones behind all these.  I volunteered to help out every time they have an event like this.  It's not always about money.  It's fulfilling when you serve others like doing it for the Lord.  These elders and handicapped children were mostly abandoned and didn't have families anymore. Can you just imagine how happy they were when we visited them, handed them food and gifts? The smiles on their faces were simply priceless. Here are some of the photos taken during the event.

The following day was a very special day for me.  So, for now... I went to celebrate it with my friend Babette over dinner at Cibo, an Italian restaurant, at Shangri-la mall.

Insalata di Manzo, Spinaci Zola and Penne al Telefono

Last night, I went to watch Mission Impossible-Ghost Protocol with my friend, Zenda.  Can't believe Tom Cruise is turning 50.  He looks so fit!  I've been a fan since his Top Gun days.

I praise God for the opportunity to bless others and for being blessed in return as well.

Total Bliss

Monday, November 21, 2011
It all started two weeks ago when I was consistently having anxiety attacks due to pressure from work and other concerns in life.  I lost my joy. I lost my peace.  And I felt like literally drowning.  The feeling was so horrible I don't even want to feel that way again ever!  Last Thursday, when I went to our weekly prayer and worship night at church, I was rejuvenated.  Thank God I attended.  The corporate prayer, the miracle testimony of a couple in our congregation, the songs of praise and worship to God lifted my wearied spirit.

I went about my work again the following day.  I still had the same concerns, nothing really changed, but my outlook was very different this time.  Let's just put it this way... I'm on fire for God... Really trusting Him and holding on to His hand... and I'm not about to let go.

Something strange happened though.  But I will write about it probably in my next post.

Dad is fine, but a bit weak, because of his radiation therapy.  He's trying his best though to stay strong by eating the right food and taking his meds on time.  Mom, on the other hand, was rushed to the ER yesterday because she had difficulty breathing.  Her lungs were congested.  She was given meds and had her dialysis this morning.  Mom is okay now.  Please continue to pray for my parents.  I'm grateful that they are okay today.  That, in itself, is a blessing and I'm grateful.

Anyway, today was a great day.  Went to watch my most awaited movie of the year, Breaking Dawn - Part 1 with my dear friend, Melo.  The movie hadn't even started yet and my popcorn was almost gone. I gulped down my Coke so fast that I had to go to the john just when the engrossing scenes were about to be shown. Argh!!!   Talk about rotten timing!

I'm a self-confessed Twilight junkie. I didn't expect to like the film so much, but I do.

Anyhow, I feel so great tonight that I'm in total bliss.  I love this feeling and hope everyday will be like today, if not better.  And I have God to thank for making me a sunshine girl today.

Last weekend was fun! Fun! Fun!

We had our first ever High School Batch '90 Section Five (IV-5) reunion last November 13, 2003 at Celsius Gastrolounge. After 19 years, we saw each other again. For some, like me, it was the first time to see them again after graduating from high school. Yeah, it was that long ago.

Maybe next time everybody from our class can attend. The more, the merrier.

My girl friends

With Joyce, Claire and Bia

With Janet and Bia

I'm so happy to see them again!

The following day, Saturday, my friends and I went to Enchanted Kingdom, a theme park in Laguna, and went for the rides immediately. I felt like a little kid all over again.

See that Mickey Mouse bag? That's mine! =D
I asked Jericho to hold it for me because they put all their stuff inside and it was heavy

Thumbs Up Mini Ice Cream

Me!!!

I got tired of screaming at the top of my lungs during the Anchors Away (Pirate Ship) and the Jungle Log Jam (Log Flume) rides, but I had so much fun! I haven't laughed so hard for a long time and it felt good!

Yesterday after the service, my friends and I watched 2012. Nice movie. Got home at 11:30 p.m.

Errands... New Moon!!!

Tuesday, November 10, 2009
I love jotting down to-do-list everyday. You know that by now. That way I won't miss a single thing that I needed to do. I especially love crossing each item on my list after I'm done with the task and eventually crumpling that piece of paper signifying that I'm done for the day. Woohoo!

Last Saturday I started my day at 9:30 a.m. Did stuff around the house before going to the gym. After that I went to the bank to pay my bills. I had around 15 things to do on my list that day. So I couldn't understand why some people would think my life is boring. They think I don't have anything to do. Really now! If they could only see my LIST. Ha!

Anyhow, can't wait to see New Moon.

Ten days to go...

I fell in love with this movie the first time I watched it. Three times in one day!

And I won't give in.
I know what I want."

A Spider Named Charlotte

Monday, November 10, 2008
I'm sure you know this movie. Believe it or not it was my first time to watch this movie last Saturday and it wasn't even intentional. I didn't even know the title of the movie until late that evening. But I believe that everything happens for a reason.

Early that morning I woke up on the wrong side of the bed. I felt a bit off and I was emotionally tired. I was impatient (again!) See, I am praying and believing God for things to happen in my life but I wasn't seeing any result. I told God so many things in a not-so-good tone. One of the things I asked God was, "Now what?!"

As I got up to get ready for my class that morning, I flipped the channels on TV and decided to settle for HBO. There was a talking pig. Great, I thought. A barn with a bunch of talking animals. I didn't really care about the movie, I was in fact busy making my to-do list for that day. The TV was just making sounds of what seemed like people conversing, but didn't quite understand what they were talking about. I wasn't really watching. Then something caught my attention. Something Charlotte, the spider said - "good things come to those who wait."

I immediately stopped what I was doing and thought about what Charlotte said. God spoke to me through a spider! I realized that I could have just watched any other show that morning, but I guess God said HBO. So HBO it was. And of all the lines delivered by those talking animals, that line which Charlotte uttered was the only sentence that I heard clearly.

And before I got out of the house, I got an incoming text message from a friend. It says, "How faithful is the Lord? "I will not leave you until I have finished giving you everything I promised you.' Genesis 28:15"

Clearly, the Lord had spoken.

PS: I noticed these words just now while I was writing this post. God does speak to us in ways unimaginable. I'm in awe.
